Cefazolin may be utilized in penicillin allergic patients EXCEPT for patients with confirmed cefazolin allergy, any cephalosporin anaphylaxis, or high-risk penicillin/cephalosporin allergy (e.g. severe skin reaction such as SJS or TEN, history of kidney or liver injury).
